:bang: hi all!

i am the owner of a 96N 1.6 (8v) 90bp sporting.
on christmas day my car just died on a busy road locally, no warning or warning lights (lol) appeared just the code light. there she stayed until R.A.C. towed her home today.
now i have tried the red key and both of my blue keys, as the manual describes, to little success. now and again i can get rid of the code light only to find the injection system light appears on? further investigation proved that there is no power to my fuel servos.

can i overide this? my local dealership are filling my head with all sorts (bs). money wise were talkin big bucks they say.

now am i better off letting a independant diagnostics expert have a play, or is the call to the dark side of the dealership far greater?

input would be soooo useful, and thanks.
p.s. wicked forum, especially the videos of that 1.6 turbo punto from italy, cooooool!:slayer:

Cant answer that as i'm biased;)

Intermittent code light/non-starting common on these,it might not happen again for months but when it does it always happens at worst time:rolleyes:

Doesn't this model have a code over-ride sequence?

You are correct in saying there is no power to the fuel pump. The ecu will not supply the fuel pump with power unless the code box tells it that the key has the correct code there for the problem lies with the key and the code box not communication. it is possible to bypass the code box by running an ignition live wire to the pump so it comes on with the ignition but then the fuel cut off wont work in the event of a crash so not sure if Puntos have these but if so might be a bit dodgy doing this. If you need any more info let me know

I may be wrong but in my cinq I did that with the fuel pump as I fitted a superfire engine and I couldn't think of another way to get it to work as the ecu needed a different code to what my keys had.

Doubt if it will sell, could wait until relisted at lower price?(offer him £50+10post)

Old keys OK aslong as got red key,you can check the code box using a multimeter but b*gger if I can find the spec/measurements.
