Tuning T-jet Tuning

Hi

Not posted on here for a while. Anyway, when I was last posting and reading this site there was a lot of talk about the T-Jet and the issues surrounding tuning because of the turbo and that they were already coming out of the factory with 140bhp so the gains from a remap etc were only about 5bhp.

Just wondering if any advancements have been made on this? Or is fitting a large turbo still the only real option available?

Where did you get the air filter and exhaust from?

Who provided your remap?

Has it made a noticeable difference to performance?

air filter is a halfords £20 job

Exhaust is an abarth back box made to fit by pro speed in cardiff.

Remap was done by Red Dot in North London.
There was a big torque increase, so you can definately feel it.

i got similar....170bhp, 210tn torque from doing:
red dot remap
GSR induction
straight through exhaust....
planning to fit an abarth exhaust, if i can fine one!!!!

The abarth exhausts aren't brilliant, the moeny you spend on the system could probably get you a decent custom system

did you not notice when you was at red dot the other half of the workshop was a custom exhaust place? they can make one with what ever sound you like, but get mid sport silent when at normal crusing or tick over revs, but a nice roar when you floor it

yh dave i do....but they want 160 for the the back box and 320 for the cat-back...isnt that alot??

not a lot for the full system really when it will out last the life of the car

What's the name of the exhaust company next door to red dot?

Bajandrifter and trich, what impact has this had on your fuel consumption?

Finally, what would people recommend for a new set of alloys? I've just got a standard t-jet at present so some that will suit it best

remap be more than 200 now on the t-jets

exhaust place is called torque exhausts

Reason being that it is a long way to travel from Huddersfield to London for just this reason. But being a Huddersfield fan and having games against Wycombe, Leyton Orient and Brentford in the next couple of months, I could head down early doors, get the car sorted and then head on to the game

I travelled from Mirfield to Red Dot, well worth it.

Usually takes around an hour including your rolling road graphs.

Wonder if it is being a bit optimistic to go down there (obviously all arranged before hand) and have a full exhaust system fitted, then go next door and have the induction fitted and remap performed all in a 3/4 hour period?

Yeah, a little... lol Have you thought about having the exhaust done more locally before you go down? Longlife in Leeds are supposedly good

you wont get an induction kit there. tim1989 got an exhaust from next door ask him how long it took, i aint sure

torque and reddot are in the same building if you book in for an exhaust and remap they can do both at the same time will only take about an hour

There is a rr day coming up in March, where Tony (formerly Red Dot) will be present and induction can be fitted. You have some very good places much closer to you.

Tony is still working with red dot, he was sitting there today when i went. T-jet maps at red dot are still on at £250 (+vat ) to FF members
