Please Help.
I disconnected the MAF Sensor this morning and took the multi out for a quick spin to see if i could notice any difference. Since then, on start up i now get the Sys Control Fault message come up and the amber symbol stays on telling me to contact the garage. I have reconnected the MAF Sensor but still no Joy.
Is it possible that whilst i was driving around the connector may have come into contact with something in the engine compartment and popped a fuse.
BTW - The warning sysmbol refers to the EOBD (page 158 of manual)

It would seem that once a control fault message has been triggered - by disconnecting MAF sensor and switching on the ignition - you will continue to get the fault message even though the MAF has been reconnected until such time as the message is cancelled using an EOBD unit.

Thanks for the reply Peat, does that mean that i need to plug in some sort of diagnostic device to reset it?

I'm afraid that is the case, unless you can ignore it until a major service.

You might want to read this ->

Thanks very much Peat, just as luck would have it, my father in law has a diagnostic tool which worked. I supose what i should have done is made a note of the actual fault code before i deleted it. What i have have learnt is that if i have to disconnect the sensor again for any reason then i won't have to worry too much about the warning message.

Cheers
