surging and reving up

hi i am new and have my first fiat ,and im doing it up ,but when you start it and it gets warm it just sits revining up and down and if left it just revs itself flat out without touching the throttle ,blip the pedal it reverts to just reving up and down again then revs itself up ,any help would be gratful car a n reg fiat puntoi 1000cc yours hopefully stephen j

hello mate try to clean ur idle control vavle with a bit of carb cleaner its the cheapest way to try first good luck mate why ur there try to clean the carb because that can cause too let me nw how u get on

thank you very much all help is gratfully recieved ,somebody at work said something about taking off the battary and letting it sort itself ,mean anything to you ?
