( Ot oh, it's nik about his Jetex again!
)
I'm just dying to know what a Supersrint sounds like (pref wihtout the addition of a K&N) so I can compare it to my new Jetex (my K&N is still in box till i'm happy with my zaust).
Most people say of their performance zausts that they get a bit too loud on the motorway making long drives unpleasant (like my mates SLK). Tis the exact opposite with my Jetex. Cruise below 70 in 4th or 5th and there's this annoying din, but get the revs above 3,5K and its bliss.
Garage fitted narrower gauge insert yesterday..took it out on the open road..resonance still there. Garage had admitted to me (after I started complaining), they used universal components (silencer & back-box etc) to comprise my exhuast, since Jetex didn't actually spec a particular one for Bravo's (though I noticed yesterday that Halfords do have one listed for Jetex actually, so I've asked them to look into it for me)
I STILL do not understand why so many back boxes are supposed to be incompatible with our bravos. So long as it will fit the space and the gauage of pipes can be matched (if reducing the back pressure / easing the flow is all you need to improve performance) what is to stop you fitting any old back box ???? since the std one has the snake charm pipe coming over the top, theres loads of room to accomodate an aftermarket replacement..
Of 10 or more different ones I asked about, the supersprint one were the only one that did a back box (or cat-back for that matter) for the Bravo, but when the shop rang to check that it would suit my HGT, Supersrint said that I'd need an additional centre piece too, putting the price up to 370 from 299!!
