Supaguard

Sorry if you misunderstood my last post. I certainly wouldn't dream of spending £300 or even £50 on a treatment like supaguard. What I meant was that I don't mind regularly using elbow grease to keep my car looking pristine. My garage shelves are lined with "products"!

Oh, one other "bonus" you get is a nasty, 80s-looking pink-and-black sticker on your windscreen which has so far resisted all attempts to remove it :yuck: I think it'll have to be a scalpel and lighter-fluid job to shift it!

Does anyone know the best way of removing Supaguard from the paintwork? It came 'free' with my daughters car - the garage applied it before I had time to say I don't want it!

If you have a hot air gun or hair drier warm it up to soften the glue then peel it off then use lighter fluid once cool to remove the residue

Couple of ways

i would wipe down with a body shop pre wipe

the clay then polish/ paint cleanser eg dodo lime prime

When I bought my used GP, the salesman went through various options, GAP, Supaguard (or something similar) etc. I ended up with only the GAP as I thought it made sense to protect the car (being a young driver and all), but I brought my dad with me seen as it was my first time buying thought a bit of experience would be useful, he told the guy he didn't rate it, thought it was useless as he later explained to me he had it done on one of his cars not so long ago and thought the money you pay for it is it stupid considering if you keep it clean and polish/wax the car well then there is no need.

I was surprised when the salesman then replied with, "If I took my badge off and my jacket, I'd agree completely with you, it is a waste of time" so it my experience even the salesman knew it was pointless.
