As Above , changing my sunroof seal over the weekend as the old one makes a lot of wind noise , checked back in the old messages and it appears fairly easy , just moving the sunroof with the motor etc but for those that have done it are there any gotchas i might come across . Also what did you use to cut the new seal with , tinsnips or what ? .

Thanx

I cut mine with a stanley knife. Just be careful when removing the seal as you'll probably have some rust there and you dont want to damage the lip the seal sits in.

Yup very easy to do.

Just work very slowly. Pull out the old one gently to avoid breaking any of the lip. Then gently apply firm pressure on the new seal and work your way round either clockwise or anti-clockwise very slowly using 1cm increments. This will ensure the seal is firmly down and reduce any lifting on corners. Once you've made a complete circle, cut with a stanley knife - I'd advise not cutting to make a precise join, just cut a fraction over the circle to make it really tight when you place the final part of the seal.

As an additional note, if there are signs of rust on the lip, sand them off and treat with hammerite to help prolong the life.
