Personally, I'd get a metal plate welded in there. And seal the roof up for good. They pretty much always start to leak, which leads to damp inside the car, and then it'll rust from inside to out.

Had a previous Uno T, and this is what got to that car. Now have a Uno 60s 1 year younger than the previous Uno T, it came with no sunroof, is 16 years old, and there's not a spot of rust on her.

:)

My 21 year old Uno has the factory fitted tilt/ slide glass sunroof and it doesn't leak! A couple of years ago I removed the whole assemby, painted the inside of the roof and sunroof flange with anti rust primer and paint then reassembled it. I also adjusted the mechanism so that the sunroof closed tightly.

It is now 99.9% leak proof with the very, very occasional drip coming from the sunroof handle bolt!

A new seal would be the best thing for a leaking sunroof, but last time I checked Fiat wanted nearly £50 for a bit of rubber IF they could still get hold of it. I also checked loads of after market sunroof companies and none of them could help either :(

The sunroof is great in the summer, and on those really hot days it makes such a difference when coming back to a hot car. Opening the roof allows a lot of that heat to escape and help cool the car down (y)
