Ulysse 16v EL Petrol model, Am I right in thinking the sump plug is the 21mm bolt with the star bit centre, also which way does it undo as I am having real problems removing it so that I can change the engine oil.

Hi,

Yes the sump plug is the large bolt protruding from the back of the oil sump, and it's your standard "Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty" kind of fastener.

If it tight, then its probably done up way to tight, there is no need to overdo it.

Upon tightening, best to use a new copper washer and it goes to 34Nm.

From the back of the sump you say, well mine seems to be on the left hand (passenger side) of the sump, maybe I have the wrong bolt, but it seems to have a copper washer so i presume I have the correct bolt?

It is the correct bolt, sorry, based its location on the drain plug on mine.

If its on the NS then jack the OS up so that the waste oil runs to the side of the sump with the drain plug.

and remember to refit the plug before adding new oil (you'd be surprized!) its either 4.25 or 4.5L including the filter, depending on its the CF3/RFN or the RFN engine, but just check the marks on the dipstick to ensure correct fill.

Thanks all I have to do now is persuade the bolt to loosen lol, I have bought a new bolt and plug and washer and will not overtighten.
