Qubo Stop/start disconnected message on dashboard

Sometime in the past before I bought my 2011 qubo 1.3 diesel someone has disconnected the stop/start on it.even when I press the button its says it's been disconnected.
Would this drain my battery?
I can't see any missing leads in the engine compartment.

Mine used to work temperamentally, now it's always off even when I press the stop start button it doesn't work. I believe mine to be because I need a new battery at some point. Might be worth checking battery age and health and replacing if needed. Also check if the current battery is a proper stop/start type not a regular battery.

I to have a warning triangle and a reading on the dash saying Stop/Start not available on a recently bought 2013 dualogic Qubo, the battery is the correct type and new. This reading comes on after driving within the fast mile.
Is this likely to course any damage if its left.
