STILO ABARTH SELESPEED

Hi all, does anyone have any advice on the stilo abarth, just thinking about getting a 5 door abarth selespeed, but before i do would like peoples opinion.

Don't bother, it doesn't live upto the Abarth name. Its slow for the size of engine, it has the poor selespeed box (costly when it goes wrong) and the 5dr is damn ugly.

I have 1 bit of advise... don't get a sillyspeed!!! They all go wrong at some point.... and I really don't think you want another car to break on you.


Oh and the 5dr Stilo driving position is horrid!!! Seriously, I have a better driving posiotion on my dads dractor!!! You feel like ur driving a milk float pressing down on the pedles not pushing them away like normal cars!



If you must buy italian, get an Alfa... it will also go wrong, but atleast it'll be a pretty bloken car on the drive lol

I think the 2.4 GT manual is the one to go for but not sure if it came as 5 door - really hope not!

The guy i got my stilo wheels off had a stilo abarth selespeed. needless to say he wasn't pleased with it!

Basicaly a new type Marea andpulls liek a train..

I've been in one used as a taxi and seemd a nice car

Apart from the obvious issue of being about as attractive as a disease ridden leoprositic donkey I've heard nothing but bad news regarding the selespeed box I'm afraid. Ben Brown who used to be on here had one in his 147 and it was off the road for months and had to be completely rebuilt.
I'd steer clear if I were you and go for a manual if you must get one.

Thanks chaps, i use to have a 1.2 5 door, it was a excellent car,if a tad boring but really like the driving position. i need a 5 door with 2 kids and another on the way so this is a option and fancy another 5cyl.

I dont like the croma, wish i did.

I will stay away from the silly speed.

Will i haven't forgotten you, i will get them out in the next week, prob monday the 7th as i will be going to the post office.

Robin, get another Marea Weekend (147 model), you know you want to. Then stick a turbo in it, as everyone has said keep well away from Stilo Abarth.
