Hello fellow stilo owners,
Havent long purchased my stilo abarth with all the extras you culd imagine and absolutely love every minute of being in the car.as my girlfriend is near due to passing her test we will be needing another vehicle and as we both love our new addition as we went halfs on the cost.its only fair we purchase another one.except one that we have our eyes on is in need of a new bottom end, thats what the owner is saying. Would anyone know how much roughly it would cost to get done? any answers views would be appreciated.many thanks.(y)

im guessing this is the pistonheads one your referring to then?

he may as well say it needs a new engine. the whole starts and 'drives' thing doesnt really count for much. you can go 2 a scrappy and see if you can get one with low mileage for anywer around 500 and above off my head though they determine the prices!

to be honest its not worth the bother. the price you would be paying for the new engine adn works would be too dear to justify

if it was me.... i would buy the one above it, less miles, younger, far better economy and the same power essentially. cheaper tax and cheaper insurance, lmao. o and it works hehe

just read, diesel leak. that would be my only concern though im sure someone would soon figure that out, much less of a problem than the bottom end

o and airbag failure :p lmao. you can fix that for free, theres guides how to do it here

could you point me in direction of airbag failure as mine has just come on and when its doing my head in.please

your so right good guessing was going to part ex my punto for it.but didnt know the work involved.so glad that you told me that as i would have been giving my punto away literally.many thanks.do you have the link to the airbag failure thread please.

I was at Glyn Hopkins fiat in London last week and one of the guys there was waiting on a new engine for his shoowee ..it was priced at cost price £1500 ..so to the public I would think it would be at least double that amount..the abarth is going out of fashion very quickly wouldn't be worth repairing the engine if its shot and the best chance would be to try and find a low mileage unit via a scrap yard..:)

yup my bottom end went (sounds painful)

and they replaced the engine as it would have cost more in parts and labour, then to just replace the engine,

they priced total as about 5.5K luckily i was under warrenty at the time:eek:

coiuld get a 05 abarth for that:eek:
