Sticky mark on windscreen

I have a large mark on my windscreen that I want to remove.

The mark is sticky, like when you remove a sticker and it leaves a sticky mess behind. (If you know what I mean).

I have tried light fluid to some extent, but it just thins it out and spreads all over.


Does anyone know what I can do?

get some deoderant, lynx, or something like, with a cloth spray quite a bit on a little spot of the cloth and im sure that will bring it off

ive always used it for stuff like this, also removes black marker pen

Very small spot of wd40 on clean rag done it for me. Wash afterwards

You have 2 simple options, a flat Stanley blade (taking care not to use it on an angle and scratch the glass) or if you have some, any tar and glue remover should get it off with little effort.
Once the sticky mess has gone a glass polish will remove any traces of residue.

Will meths work ?

I tried using meths and it worked. I then used an abrasive cream.

All of the sticky stuff has gone.
