i can plug 1 in but it doesnt reconise the mp3... it will play them but according to sony it wont contol the cd so i wont be able to skip a song or anything

Right i understand now. Never thought about skipping between files on each mp3. Almost bought an mp3 changer from ebay few weeks back for my sony head unit, now glad i didn't.

Just thought i'd update this thread. Reply direct from sony uk.
"The following CD changers have MP3 playback, and can be controlled from the CDXM630 head unit. It is important, however, to confirm that you do have this head unit, and not the CDX630 as stated in your enquiry. The latter unit is not MP3 compatible.
MP3 playback is available on the CDX757MX and the CDXT70MX changers. For more information on these products, please click on www.ice.sony.co.uk.

The head unit mentioned at the top of the thread might have 2 versions, one with mp3 control and a lesser model without. Might be of interest for others with sony stereos if nothing else.

im sure mine says CDX 630M on box but is that way round. ill go ganders at the 1 in the car. but i was told it dont have mp3 function it any of them

ok just been to look. it has CDX-M630 on the second screen. but i know it aint mp3 compatible but ur saying it is cd changer mp3 compatable???

he's saying ypu can get a cd changer that can read MP3 files off of a disk. but then you have to think, can you justify having 10 disks worth of mp3's? thats a hell of a lot.
Probably alot easier to get a mp3 head unit like we saw in halfords.

but i love my head unit.. t70mx is a 6disc aswell but i dont think there compatable. i got my email from him ages ago telling me its aint compatable. the cd unit its self doesnt understand the mp3's so i wontbe able to controle them only listen to them

You can I had the same sterio and if you get a changer with MP3 control you have no problem using them.

so i get in last night. and think ill get my manuel out and have another read. open the manuel. and look at the contents page. THINKING where would i find it. as im thinkin i drop the book. pick it up again and its on page 9. HOW TO PLAY A CD. and in the smallest writting ever i found it 3rd line down. MP3 CD Changer compatible.
so where to put my cash... invest in a mp3 cd changer or get my cam belt done. cars done 39k in 3 year. when last had a service the man said the cam belt had small cracks.
