Stereo problems

Hi All,

New to the site having just purchased a 1997 Fiat Brava.

Followed your instructions for getting the original stereo out (which was a piece of cake by the way), but can't get any power to the new stereo.

I've got the red wire from the car connected to the red wire from the stereo but nothing's happening.

I tried connecting the old stereo back and nothing's doing there either.

The lights on the dashboard still come on so I'm assuming it's not the fuse.

Any thoughts on what it could be? I get the feeling I'm missing something really obvious, but can't for the life of me think what it is.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

try swaping the red and yellow wires around

Which yellow and which red? car end or stereo end?

or should i just connect red stereo to car yellow or yellow stereo to car red?

yeah try red car to yellow stereo like u said....

then check fuses!

does this connect the stereos power source to the battery?

ok,
I've tried connecting the red stereo cable to the yellow cable (yellow and black actually having now checked with a torch) and nothings happening.
I've checked the fuse and it's fine.
What else can I do?
