Not the Tina Turner song, but does anyone else suffer with steamed up windows in their Bravo, or is it contained to the 155HGT? The only reason I ask that is my cousin used to have a 155HGT as well as me, and he suffered the same problem.
I feel like I'm constantly switching the heating dial to Ma:LOL:ef to de-mist.

I had this problem, are u driving with the air circulating in your car? if it is slide the wee dial to make fresh air come in, this solved my problem!

Re: Re: Steamy Windows

Yep - Gordon's got it spot on. Move the slider to the other position to let fresh air in through the vents.
Should sort it for you!

Worth trying this...

I can't remember where I read about this, but I've done it to my windows and it does work.

Get a clean, dry rag and smear neat washing up liquid all over your windows, leaving a reasonable coating. Now leave it to dry for a few hours (best done in summer 'cos it dries quite quickly...but then windows don't steam up much in summer unless it chucks it down)
Once its all dried, buff it all off with another clean, dry rag. (This bit takes FOREVER!!)
Et voila!!!
Mist-free windows. And your car smells like washing up liquid so my advice is to use one which you like. My choice is Persil 'Citrus'..mmmm...that lovely, citrussy smell.

i also had this problem when i bought my hgt i nice dollop of mastic under the arial seemed to do the trick as it wasnt leaking badly enough to drip but bad enough to dampen the car over time it was especially bad when the electric seats were on i had to pull over and de-fog a few times!!

Re: Re: Steamy Windows

Hey Jonno, where did you put the mastic? I looked on the fix-a-bravo section and it looked like a lot of work messing about taking interior trim, sunroof gubbins, etc out, just to fix a very small leak. Mine drips very occasionally, when it's REALLY pi**ing down.

Re: Re: Re: Steamy Windows

Cheers for the advice fella's, but I don't have the circulated air button pressed in, so fresh air is coming in anyway, also not too keen on the mastic idea if it means a lot of hassle, looks like I'm confined to the Max Def setting.

Re: Re: Re: Steamy Windows

i hacd this problem just slide the air thing owr!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Steamy Windows

Anders i was the one that said to use neat washing up liquid :) works a treat doesent it.

i have tints now though so i dearnt put anything on them :( i used to do the washing up trick on my car about 2/3 times a year :) it is wicked.

play misty for me

I had this problem

When i replaced my pollen filter it resulted in this problem going away.

By any means make sure you have external air coming instead of re-circulating air to take moisture away.

If you have air-con switch it on, it drys the air!

Re: play misty for me

Or get some anti-fog. It's made by the same people who make rain-x.You know ,the stuff you wipe over the outside of your window's .It makes the water just run off. The anti fog's good stuff.I got mine from halford's for £4.99 and did it just before x-mas. No steamy window's since. Before that i tried half a potato. That worked too but you need to change it every couple o day's or it will stink the car out

Re: Re: play misty for me

i suffered this problem with my old 1.8 hlx. i discovered how useful aircon was to demist windows especially when there is a full car load but the problem was when i turned it off the car steamed up really really badly. it was so bad the windows would be clear and then a blink later i couldn't see through them. I was then assured this was because the aircon took the moisture out the air but when you turn it off it comes back through again. Have a punto sporting now and it is exactly the same. Best thing to do is not use aircon at all to de-mist, unless of course you leave it on the whole journey. Im sure when you turn the dial to max dem that it turns the aircon on so that might be your problem.

You take the arial out and put mastic round the keyhole shaped bit of plastic on the arial.

i also found a pine needle under the gasket that wasnt helping much.

getting the sunroof motor back was the trickiest part but the whole thing only took half an hour.

all the electrics unplug realy quickly and all you need is a screwdriver and a socket set.

but remember howto put the sunroof motor back in ie. slide it to the side to get the cog back in.

i wouldnt say to just leave it though with the de-mist on full though cos itll just make bad elecrtical problems worse bt coroding the contacts then you'l spend the rest of your weekends messing with switches.
(well more than you do at the moment)

Re: Re: Re: play misty for me

Get some shaving foam, and clean your windows with...it will sort your problem out straight away...

I don't know if it will go onto tints, so personally i would risk it...
