Steaming Windows

Does anybody have a problem with steaming windows all the time. Today I drove onto a roundabout because I could not see the kerb looking threw my driving side window. Yes I do have my fan on but whats the best so you dont get to hot/cold and what other settings should I look at.

Usual Problem

All the Bravo's and Brava's I have known suffer from this. Bascially drvie with the air circulation button off and it doesn't happen. On cars with air con you will notice that when you have max defrost on this is off for the same reason

Yep, it baffled me until I noticed the text on the sun visor telling you what poition to set your controls at to avoid this!

steamy windows!! pollen filter

I had this problem on my HGT, the windows would steam up ever so easily. Someone told me to check the pollen filter and i did! it was was all chocked up!! changed the filter and no probs!! worth a check. They say change it once a year but i find it needs replacing more frequently. I know when it needs changing cos the windows steam up very quickly.

The day i bought my bravo i drove back from cheshire with the windows all steamed up, just as i was getting home i noticed the recirculate button, changed it, and now it never steams up!

Recirculate lever

On mine its a recirculate lever, not a button, but it still applies. Move it to the 'air - in' position rather than the 'recirculate' and it won't steam up so much. Unless you've got a water leak of course....

Heat Output

Does everyone else's Bravo seem to have a poor performance heater? The heat output on mine is crap. Its the type of problem that would only really bother my Gran, in fact if I ever get a new car she ask's if it has a good heater, and then goes on to explain that the one in her Hilman Imp was better!

Pollen Filter Woes

If you don't suffer from hay rever is it worth just leaving it out? I don't suffer, and although I havent checked the filter I don't suppose it would matter if I just left it out!

Crappy Heater

Only had my Bravo for a few months and usually have it directed on the window/central/footwell option but if you want plenty of heat keep the vents on central and the temp on high and after 5-10mins the heat should come trough even without the fans.

I must say I haven't got a problem with the heater, in fact I never have have the heat control further round than the middle position otherwise it is too hot! I do like having cool air flowing through when I drive tho.

Badly sealed Windscreen ?

Not sure if this might have anything 2 do with it but when i picked up my Bravo 5 weeks ago, it had 2 have a new windscreen fitted. The day after i picked it up, i had 2 travel 2 Birmingham with 3 others in the car. It took a while 2 de mist but after 30 minutes or so it was still only 50% clear and it stayed like that all the way 2 Brum.
When i took it back 2 the dealer, they found that the sealant around the screen hadn't bonded properly and so they re fitted the screen and now all is well
This might b an answer 2 those who still find a demisting problem after checking the air recirc. advice given in this thread.

thats exactly what I did, but I have just had it serviced and the dealer said I should have one, especially if I have kids in the car. Not sure what he meant, but suspect the fact that he charged over
£15 for a new filter was his primary incentive.

Recycle Button

Just a suggestion but I get the same problem when the lever for recycle/external air is in the wrong place. Mine is labbelled the wrong way around and whenever anybody else uses the car it comes back in the wrong position.
