Last nights journey proved to me that I clearly own a stealth car.

Twice I was carved-up on a roundabout. [:(!]

The first incident involved a Daewoo Nubira. It was at M6 J9, and I was on the lane furthest from the centre, and this Daewoo was on my right. Without indication, he pulled across me and took the nearest exit [:0] causing me to swerve violently and brake hard, which isn't recommended in a non-servo assisted Panda on 135s.B) If I hadn't swerved though, I'd have lost the front end of my car ;)

Incident number two was at the roundabout at M5 J4 (for anyone interested) when I was cut-up in a most spectacular fashion by a 4x4 thing. Not sure what it was, but it was the size of a small African country. Just drifted over into my lane without seeing me.

It's a bright red Panda for pity's sake! How can a driver possibly miss it? I know she's small, but it's the same colour as a post box - unmissable.

I've calmed down now.

Dont get me started on 4x4s again!!

Yes i know what u mean about being cut up at roundabouts, it happens to me all the time, and i really cant believe they dont notice me!

fABULOUS, fEMALE aND tOTALLY fLIPPED

Don't feel too put upon, Paul, it happens to any car that's slightly smaller than the offending one.

Equally I'd echo the sentiments about 4x4s.

Regarding roundabouts - I experienced people "straight-lining" them most when we moved to Birmingham nearly 20 years ago. You just couldn't rely on lane discipline at all :(
As a consequence, I take a position with the other traffic so that if/when they straight-line we mesh like the teeth of a pair of cogs, and get very close, but don't touch :)

See https://www.fiatforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=662 - second post.

I still cringe every time I pass that roundabout :(

When the sun beats down and I lie on the bench, I can always hear them talk.
Me, I'm just a lawnmower - you can tell me by the way I walk ...

When i drive my Panda ..which is PINK, I find most other drivers are so gobsmacked by the colour that they back off a bit, OR .... ( she says thinking .........) do you think they just don't want pink paint scraped all over the front wing of their car ???
One of the best bits about driving a pink panda is the look on other drivers faces when Pinkie ( the car ) and me overtake them, Yes it does happen sometimes on the way to work ( ok ok .. so I go down some steep hills )

Panda power for ever !!!

I live in essex there is a difrent highway code for roundabouts here but i have not been able to get a copy, lots of other people must have though because the rule seems to be no matter what exit you want you use you use what ever lane you won't, the bravest driver (or maddist) has the right of way.

Steve - your description in that link is just what happened to me. Only I was lucky enough to swerve and get out of the way.

Thanks for the support everyone! :)

Hi Steve.
I've sent Roberto a message ... so here's hoping the mystery will soon be solved. My manager at work bought a pink panda from new, she reckons that there were only 5 imported, which i find immpossible to believe ( not that I told her I thought she was talking rubbish .. what with her being the boss lady AND a black belt in karate !!! )

Pauline - someone else on this Forum mentioned a Pink Panda - I'll look at the archives and let you know :)

Paul - you got away with it this time. I'd keep a careful eye out for other morons if I were you. I just wished I'd had a photo of the damage done. Unfortunately I had no film in the camera at the time, and I doubt I'd be able to hold it steady enough if I had :(

Hi All.
I've read all the messages AND looked at all the pics of the 'other' pink panda. I have to say I thought they were all 'K' reg, however it would seem not. I can't say the customising job with the bumpers and wheels was an improvement. Pinkies bumpers are grey, and her wheels are a bit indeterminate (oil and muck with a hint of silver) I could do with finding out what colour they were when she was new. I took her to the garage today to get the drivers door sorted ie. get rid of the rusty hole. I had her buffed last week as the colour does fade like mad .. she looks fantastic now, its like driving round in a raspberry blancmange. Hope fully when i get her back i can sort out some pics for on here ... add a bit of class to the forum ..lol.
Maybe at some point we should have a Panda Meet, what an inspiring sight that would be, we could go and hassle a few 4x4's Panda Pack Hunting .. what a sport that could be [:X]
