Been meaning to report this but I have had problems with static for a while now. I only spend about 10-15 mins back and forth to work but You can be sure I will get a belt of it tonight when I park up and touch the door to close it. No static on the inside touching the metal trim etc.
Anyone having the same problem.

No, never experienced it yet, although I am prone to it [I usually get it when I press elevator buttons!!!].

it's your shoes!

i only get it when i wear certain shoes...all to do with the shoes earthing you, allowing the static to discharge through you.

Get an earthing strip under the car attached to the body in some way, messy answer but it should help. I am the same, all the time, have to use the window to prevent it - will one day smash my hand through it!

I mean the cheap pieces of crap some people put on, they have a conductive element down the middle and coated in plastic, they drag along supposedly to discharge the car....

Or don't wear nylon underwear...! It is true however, the nylon friction creates it, but there are other reasons such as the air molecules against the car body...

For the record, my Y's are cotton. It could be the shoes, I will a different pair to work tommorow and see if that resolves the issue.
Shame because these 'Aldi' high fashion footwear are bloody comfortable.

Keep in mind that this is a common thing on a lot of cars. To be honest I've not noticed it with my Ulysse, but with my last car I had it happen almost every time I touched it!

If you do a rain dance and it rains, that helps, - the charge is leaked due to high humidity ;)

So I guess this idea has resulted in the rain we had today.....

Next time, keep your silly ideas to yourself! :D
