Had my Punto for just under a year now, after about 6 months of having it, I would say after about a 3 or 4 mile drive, whenever I apply pressure to the brake pedal, there is a very annoying squeak that comes from them, Ive recently had my pads changed on saturday but the noise still wont go. Sort of looking for general advice as to what this could be, if its possible its coming from the back brakes or if this has happened to anyone else.

Thanks

were the calipers cleaned throughly to remove all the crud?

Squeal is usually a bur on the disc or pad

It makes such light contact that it vibrates at a high frequency = the squeak

new pads sometimes mask this noise till the pads bed in and before you know it, the squeal is back

i had it on my old mk2 punto
I stripped and cleaned the pads and calipers lots and lots of times
I do suspect that the top slider been poor had a large contribution to it, but who knows

Ensure everything is cleaned when refitted, ensure the caliper could move freely if needed
