Probably wont ride better than oe springs and shocks, however might give you the handling you are after?
It seems odd that you want to lower 40mm but want improved ride? Dont think thats possible.

Are you changing shocks while you are at it?

If budget is your main concern, these'll do nicely but dont expect wonders.

If you see a bandwagon, its already too late!

wouldn't bother mike as the front and rear sit at different levels anyway,

yeah buzz just springs im after and yes down to a budget really, cant afford to splash out for eibach or even a full suspension set up.
i hate the way my car handles at the mo having the rear lower than the front,Hence looking for say 30mm alround. Not too low nor standard.

my rst was lowered 40mm alround and that was spot on.I understand i have an heavier engine/front end but thought ill be fine with 30mm?

forgt to say the ride aswell is hard.If these dont improve ride quality but will improve handling then ill be happy.

cant think of other springs, unless any ofones knows any good priced ones?

I've got a set of new Eibachs sat in a box at home. Make me an offer :)

what do they lower by? what did you pay for them so i know how much to offer ;)

Well you can't buy them anymore afaik but they are about £200. 30mm drop but still give the best ride as anyone who's had them or been in a car with them fitted will agree :)
