i got 7x17"'s and lowered 35mm on an apex kit annnnd, when i go over a nasty bump, my front wheels go up in the arches and/or hit the front bumper (which is an aftermarket one). Does anyone else have this problem, and if so... did you prevent this with spring limitation things.. i saw them on the novitec site:

http://shophost.net/shop_n/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=439

anyone use them and do they work?
easy to fit?

etc.

and why have i not even heard of them before today?

I dont think anyones had this problem on here, how old are the shock absorbers? Also are the tyres the correct size for the car, i.e offset, tyre size etc.

i think they are 205/40/17 but i cant check cause my cars in the body shop at the moment. i originally had toyo proxes (whatever they are called) on, and they didnt touch once (even with 4 people in) but i since changed the front tyres toooo.... some other cheapo tyres vredstein or something. they are the same profile but the treads are abit meatier and i thought that could may be the problem. after my recent crash i am planning on spending a fair few hundred on tyres now, any reccommendations? Im thinking pirelli, michelin, good year etc.

also is there any lower profile tyres available than 205/40? I get really confused when it comes to tyres.

did it start rubbing after the crash? also as asked how old are the shocks?

Nah it was rubbing sinnnnce.... the shocks and springs were about 4 months old(they must be nearly 8 months/9 months old now), and it only rubs when me and 2 other people (or a fatass) is in the car, and even then its only over a nasty bump. The problem is speed bumps and pot holes, and i live out in the sticks so our road surfaces are sh*t. the clearance between the wheel and the arch is about 3 mm lock to lock, the wheels have actually worn away the parts of the bumper where it used to catch, so now it only catches on an extreme bump. :( its annoying, maybe the spring limiters would prevent it getting so close as to make a nasty sound in the arches (at the expense of my ass).

Are the bumpstops still in place? Spring limiters are a total bodge, the bump stops are there to stop this happening.

ahhh i have no idea. i take it they are located at the top of the springs somewhere and look like big black things? i will have a look when i get my car back.
