i got some off ebay for about £20, if your lucky you'll be able to get some your colour. I have only primed mine so far, was going to air brush them using the touchup paint i have (obviously thinned down) but i need some other bodywork done so will probably just get them painted at the same time.

i take it everyone on here has electric colour coaded mirrors i have neither.

Im just in the process of sprating my mirrors now, Firstly remove them from the car and then u should have 4 part the 2 base plates and the actual mirror heads.

This is what ive done >>>>

I smoothed them over to get rid of any back to black or dirt etc. I used Wet and Dry 800 grit from Halfords. Make sure you wet the paper to get a better result.

I then used a White plastic primer aerosol availible from Halfords, as my car is white, gave them all bout 2-3 coats of this jus to help hard the black behind the paint.

Once this had dried I then used the Halfords paint match aerosols mine was 249, ull find the code on your boot hatch on a small sticker.

I gave the parts 2-3 coats of this make sure you use smooth strokes at bout 10"s away to give the best result.

Once this had dried I used a clear primer also from halford in aerosol.

Ill post some pics once Ive finished :)

Remember that you'll need a metal primer for the base plates as plastic primer just wont do. Thats if you do the base plates.

why do i need a metal primer for my base plates mine are plastic not metal.

Your base plates should be metal with a black powercoat finish on them...

Mine after sanding...

oh so they are metal i didnt know that what is your total cost of paint and other stuff how long to do .

My car is white so i just bought 1 can of Hammerite, Direct to rust, Metal Paint (Smooth White), which was about £4.99, i also bought a wire brush attachment for a drill which was about £4. I didn't need to buy any laquer or sandpaper as i had some round the house.

The sanding took about 5-10 mins for each base plate. Spraying was just waiting time, about an hour spraying them (4 coats at 15-20min intervals), then left them for about 5-6 hours to dry before fitting.
