Decided to do the pollen filter today whilst in the footwell removing the screws all of sudden both electric windows went down no egnition on but keys were in i no stilos have electric problems has that happened to anyone else

no way the button on the key could have been getting pressed? ive had that happen

If you were leaning on the unlock button on the remote control for more than 2 seconds with the ignition switched off, the windows should go down. Pressing the lock button for more than 2 seconds should make them go up.

If you have the skyroof fitted, that should open and close with the same buttons.

there was no way i was anywhere near the keys i was lying on the ground with only the top part of my body in the floor pan area

keys in ignition but ignition turned off

hmmm...i wonder if....speculation now...you knocked the fob whilst rumaging around? OR, the keys being in the ignition, but off, still does some sort of electrical connection, and you caused some sort of....oh bugger it i dunno!!!

It was the ghost of the previous owner trying to stop you finding out that he had replaced the previous pollen filter with an old copy of Razzle.

the only thing i can think of is i earthed my spanner against one of the pedals
its an 02 reg and my son had it for 8 years before he gave it to me and i dont think the filter has ever been out wiser now how to do it and the cut in it makes it a lot eaisier to do

LOL, are you sure your spare keys were not in the hands of a child?, my eldest done that when i was washing my brand new stilo with a hose pipe, the windows dropped while i was hosing her down - the seats took a couple of days to dry lol.
