Technical speedgear over-revving

Hi, i find that when i'm in drive and accelerate, the car just seems like it's over-revving. i only have this problem when i'm in drive as i've tried driving using the tiptronic gears and it's fine. I know it's a CVT gearbox, but should it really go as high as 6000 revs?

I just wondered if this is normal?

I only have to accelerate slightly. maybee it's just my driving then, i'll try taking it a bit easier and see if it makes a difference. thanks for the response anyway
