so then how fast u bin in ya bravos?? i got 120 wiv 4 ppl in out of my 1.6!!! thats pretty beefy i think!! wat bout 0-60 times??

We've already done this one fella, not so long ago. Mine was 138mph in my 155HGT, however, the most satisfying moment so far was last night, thrashing the dogs nads out of a Focus ST170 who thought he could do me, and he learnt that he couldn't. Mine is a standard 155HGT on a 2000 V plate, so I dread to thing what you fella's with your modded Bravo's can do! At 31 years old, doing the ST170 was good enough for me............... so far!

1.6 16v standard 130mph and i'll think you'll find most of the people with the 1.6's have done roughly the same, But it's kinda a once is enough, the car is quite simply not safe at that speed, I've done it i know what the car can do, i'm happy never to do it again!
When you hit that speed the steering becomes very very light and the car very poor responce,

I chickened out at an indicated 120. The car was not feeling happy at that speed. It was almost floating across the road.

Yeah i have had 120 out of forth gear twice now, i dont want to do it very often. i only did it the second time when no one believed me the first time. it was only just staring to go into the red too.
When i put it fifth it will gradulary creep to 130 and i only did that once and never again, the car felt very unsafe.

in my 1998 1.8 hlx i get about 134 and with a little on the revs still to go i do all of my mates in thier 2litres. the thing i find amusing is that we have all said this before then someone said all of our speedos are out so i flew past my mates to see how quick they were all going when i past them and they all have readings higher then me. i also posted a message saying about this brand new golf tdi i did which everyone said NO NO NO. well it was very true i dont know about 0-60 but we were side by side at 120 as i slowly crept past him someone tell me im not alone in doing a car that they say cant be done.

The most i've got out of my 155HGT is about 142mph (on the clock), on 17's, with no other mods while racing a women driven 5-series BMW on the way to TRAX earlier this year.
The rev gauge got just over 6k, i think it may have had a bit more to go, but that was fast enough for me...didnt really notice the speed until my head-unit cut out as it got too hot...
As most have said the car is VERY VERY light at 120mph+

i went a bit faster but chickened out before pic was taken.
the car has since had the cat taken out (still not boy racer loud, thank fcuk), and 17 fitted so not sure.
best thing is for all us bravo owners to do a dyno meet.
i've got a 1.6 16v with 17s (15inch OZ wheels at time of pic), piper cross induction and remus ss exhaust.

Havent really pushed the 1.4s. I think with a full tank i could only go a matter of miles at 100mph+ cos the damn thing evapourates the gas!
Did get 118 out of a 1.3 hyundai accent, would have went further aswell.

115 mph in a 1.4s piperX induction kit after messing about with the engine for a day. It was at 3 in the morning this summer with a full car.

Standard 1.8 bravo 128mph had to hit brakes as i was comin upto a roundabout, it had some left tho. as for 0-60, with a perfect launch i got 9.4secs on a perfect flat, with no wind at all and a passenger in car. I was v. happy with the 0-60 dash.
Be interested in others 0-60 times too...

Daz that pic is correct. my 1.6 will do 120 in forth gear then slowly glide to 130 in fifth. i always win races because of that, i can leave it in forth from from 80-90 to 120 where most people have to change to fifth earlier.

Yeah true...1.6 aint the strongest engine, but mated to the 1.6 gearbox, it can be one hell of a drive that will surprise other bullies.
