Scudo Speed sensor problems

I've been experiencing intermittent speedometer problems with my Scudo 06 plate Hackney cab. About 2 weeks ago whilst on the motorway the speedo dropped to zero whilst travelling at 70 mph. I reduced speed and the speedo kicked back in about a mile later. The problem only arose at high revs but has now started to appear at low speeds at irregular intervals. I've tried swapping the clocks but the same problems exists. Is this likely to be the gearbox speed sensor and if so is it a big job to replace?

Is your Taxi meter connected from pulse wire or an inline transducer on the speedo cable?

Not sure but my pal had a similar problem with his Renault traffic it turned out to be a fault ABS sensor on the front near side wheel hub, might similar system on Fiats?
