Inforad are massive!, my detector is only the size of a packet of fags
Inforads do look big but it is much smaller than I thought it would be when I got it.
It's about the size of a fag packet also, will take a comparison photo of it in my hand when I get back home mid day.

I would have one if i had the money, as im always on the look out for camera's etc, i stick to the speed limits, but when the music is going I tend to very slowly speed up and I dont notice.

Totally agree arc, if anyone thinks they are there to save lives they are dreaming... Bad driving kills not necessarily speed.

Buy a Tom Tom and put Checkpoint on yor PDA.

I speed all the time, I live in Dorset where we have a lot of 60mph roads and I figure that these are fair game for speeding on as there are no real hazards that a good driver won't spot in advance. However if the speed limit is 30 or 40 it is for a reason, usually related to being a populated area and so more care needs to be taken and speed adjusted to suit. Speeding on these roads unless your electronic device tells you there is a camera is not good.

Correct me if im wrong, but the data you can download for sat nav programs doesnt usually tend to be directional, and doesnt give you the same detail level in warning as a dedicated speed camera detector would do

Not quit correct, it is directional and they give as much information as you programme then too. Also dedicated detectors are probably going to be banned. You of course can have POI for just about anything, your favourite pub, club, takeaway etc.

Er no there not............only ones that use laser and radar technology will be banned, the act is with parliament at the moment

And you think this Government is not going to ban them?

They won't ban GPS based devices since most sat nav systems have the ability to display them as POIs, banning those would ban most sat nav systems, which they wouldn't do!

If you read the post I did say dedicated detectors, sat nav are not the same thing! As I read it only the radar/laser type will be banned such as Road Angel (laser type) etc not the POI on a Tom Tom for instance. I think even this Government would have a hard time banning those, but who knows!!!
BTW I don't condone blatent speeding but there are times, as any driver today should admit if they are honest, that it is very easy to break the law. But it it more dangerous to go around with both eyes on the speedo rather than concentrating on the road.
