I was kindly given some double platinum spark plugs for my HGT from my local garage.
Anyone know what measurement the gap should be for best performance?

Cheers

Bob

It says on the side of the box to adjust the gap to the car manufacturers recommendation.

Haven't got the number with me.

Thought it would be a standard gap for all spark plugs.

Just looked and the manual I got says:

2,0 l/108kW - 0,9 mm
2,0 l/113kW - 0,8 mm

See Tom why couldnt you be helpfull like sven and just answer the question. ;)

2,0 l/108kW
Bosch = FR 7 LDC
NGK = BKR 6 EKC
Champion = RC 8 BYC

2,0 l/113 kW
Bosch = FR 6 LDC
NGK = BKR 6 EKC
Champion = RC 8 BY

So they take the same NGK and champion plugs but different bosch plugs?!

The champions arent the same!!!!!
The last letter has to do whit the thermal value.

I guess the NGKs have a wider termal range than the others.

sven

No, the number is the temp range, the C means copper.

If it was CC then its a double copper.

But it also says the word Champion on it which in my experience is - cack!

I honestly dont think that the spark plug gap makes an ENOURMOUS difference - unless of course you can slide a pound coin between the two!!!!

The best advice i was given years ago was to take the packet they are in - rip some of the cardboard off and use its thickness as a guide - I have done that for ALL my 11 cars in 9 years. NOT ONE WENT WRONG OR HAD A SPARK PROBLEM.
