can any one tell me were the spare wheel carrier fit on a ducato or a photo would be better as I want to fit one on my motorhome

Is there physically room under the motorhome where a 'normal' spare wheel would be i.e behind rear rear axle. Is it a Fiat Ducato Camper Light or a Maxi chassis or an Alko one?

On the early x250's the spare carrier fitted under the rear of the van and the winder was accessed through a hole covered by the rear door, these were very unreliable and used to seize and some failed with the loss of the wheel. The carrier was later modified and the winder accessed behind the rear wheel, there was a recall for this.

The new style carrier is often for sale on e-bay but you must get the right one for your van, either 15" or 16" as they are not interchangeable, also to fit the carrier requires fitting rivnuts to secure of the winder.

What year is your Ducato/motorhome? On my Hymer, based on the 1992 Ducato, the spare wheel is carried above the engine under the bonnet. Best place for it for weight distribution and it stays clean. All Ducatos between 1989 and 1994 had the same spare wheel location under the bonnet.
