I have a tapping sound thats coming from the cambelt area and suggestions?

I had a similar noise when the alternator drive belt tensioner started to give up.
best way would be to take the auxiliary drivebelt off then run the engine briefly with no auxiliary belt.
if the noise disappears its most likely the aux belt tensioner as the poster above said, if the noise is still there get your cambelt kit done asap, my alfa gtv made that noise when the tensioner was about to give up, they use the same sort of tensioner.

I took the fan belt off and the noise was gone. The large pully at the rear wobbles like hell so I'm thinking this is the culprit. On another thread I was told this is the power steering pump.
