Technical Soundproofing doors..........good IDEA???

I would like to take the 'CLANG' out of the door closure(s) on my petrol 05 IDEA.

Has anyone tried this, and if so, what was the result............your views would be most welcome.

Have a look on the car audio sites, those guys generally do a lot of sound proofing to improve sound quality. I would go for something rubbery as you only want it to damp the door panel rather than noise. It then won't hold moisture.

You may get away with using some sealer and bonding the door skin to the side impact bars. Some of ours are worse than others but I know its had a skin on the passenger side a couple of years ago.

Flashing tape, much cheaper than all that fancy named stuff on the market. Works well.
