Hey guys, can anyone help me.
I have a 1.9 150 dynamic with blue and me.
The stereo system isn't auto turning off or on when i stop or turn on the ignition respectively.
I have looked in the handbook but its all gobbledy gook !
can someone help ? in as simple terms as possible please ! lol

Hi, it could be a simple case of wiring.

most electrics in a car are connected to the ignition or battery. u might need to connect the earth wire tot he ignotion so that when u turn the ignition, it will come on.

I'm sure on my Mk1 it is an option you set in the radio itself.

yeah, according to the handbook it is an option on the head unit. but i cant make head nor tail of the instructions. dont think it is the wiring, thanks for the responses guys, any idea of the option to set on the head unit ?

don't know how to solve your problem, but it's probably on a 20 minute timer, so will switch off before draining your battery if you forget to do it manually.

if i were you i WOULDN`T go messin about with wires just yet as i`m guessin that its a new bravo, i`d either seek help with fiat about the manual or really have a good read of the instructions before messin about with the radio

im sure you can turn it off, its all in the manual, just need to have a good read of it, i like it :) however if you want it off and cant do it take it back to fiat and ask them nicely :)

plus on a another note if you go messin about with the wires, you might end up loosin your warranty on your new bravo, i`d ask fiat if your not sure mate, thats your best bet

"but i cant make head nor tail of the instructions"

simople solution.....................

PUSH THE BUTTON THAT SAYS............ OFF

well yes, this is an option smart-arse, but I would like to get the auto on/off function working in case one time i forget to turn the sound system off upon leaving my car then returning to it to find the battery is dead.
anybody with any sensible suggestions ?

The most sensible option, already mentioned here, is go to your dealer, FFS !

Or RTFM !

ive read the manual, but as said previously, the section on setting up the sound system doesnt make sense. i kinda thought this forum would be a friendly place where someone might have had the same problem and would offer an easy solution. but it seems that there are a number of complete bellend bravo owners ! why waste your time coming on here and getting arsey with someone whos just looking for a simple suggestion ? is your life really that dull ?

Well, I could counter that with asking why someone who has just bought a brand new car and has a problem with it, sees fit to ask on a forum dedicated in the main to the original Bravo, rather than go to his dealer where he bought it and ask the people who would give him the correct answer immediately.

Is it because you don't want to appear stupid ? Too late mate.

Who's the bell end ??????

right its on page 24 in the manual, however i have not managed to find it while just messing about to try and find out how to do it, i must say the manual is not much help!

Oh FFS lets all calm down eh?

one min everyone is saying that this place should do more in the way to get new members ie new bravo owners, and when one comes along you give him an earfull,

oh and Darran, thats just how Ash is, its nothing personal :)

back on topic i shall take another look tomorrow.

simple solutions are allways best and if he used the search i think you will find the question has already been covered.

Ash-defo the new bravo, he even mentions it by sayin the `dynamic` which is one of new bravo models

the radio has a timer, once the ignition is turned off it goes into a timer mode and switches off after a certain period time (default of 20 mins I think), so the battery won't go flat. It's the same as the old Bravo and Stilo but I'm not sure if the timer can be set to a users preference.

I know what you mean about it being annoying not switching off with the ignition, I'll have a look and see if it can be set to switch off with the ignition.
