was waitin at a round about to go out, granted plenty of snow on the road so it was slippy.. Some women behind me bangs into me pushed my car forwards a good meter and a half..

so far looking iv got problem with a cracked number plate all the way along and the eye hole cover is missing... any ideas on a price for that eye hole cover?

it annoys me more that she had the length of three coaches to stop as i watched her in my mirror yet she choose to hit the brakes about a car length away from me. stupid women!

ill have a closer look tomorrow but it looks just like number plate and that.. touch wood! lucky i didnt have brakes on and it was slippy so i slid/roled forward.

Hi,

I'm sure, it wasn't her intention to crash into you and accidents do happen, sadly. :(

But if you werent on the brakes and at small speed, let's hope, it's just your registration plate and nothing else is broken.

Greetings,
Paladin

I had the same experiance with my Megane sport a few years back, was in the traffic jam and I was stpped, just check the mirror and see the car behind getting closer and closer, the guy was chatting to his GF about a car next to them, by the time he turn his head to the front again it was too late and "BANG" hit the back of mine!!!
Craig, you haven't had much luck with that car do you? I will check the gap between the rear bumper and the rear wing, make sure the mounting bracket wasn't damage, good luck!!!

no obviously she didnt.. but what im saying is she had PLENTY of room to Stop like a whole street since i was sat at the round about for a good 2 minutes waitin to pull out.. thats whats pissed me off more then anything.. the fact of how much room she had and time!!

Indeed Stilo Newbie.... i havnt...

checked the gap on each side of the bumper and its perfect and nothing protruding.. im Very shocked if im completly honest and so was my mate.. we both got out expecting the full back end to be caved in. No idea how it doesnt look any worse im pleased it doesnt....

just need a price on that eye cover...

decided to claim against her now.. found a crack in the bumper and looks like my reversin light has been pushed in a bit... she seemed fairly happy to go through with it if im honest but im hoping this doesnt back fire on me.. so pleased im fully comp!

Why? It's her insurance that's going to payout not yours. You simply need to let your insurance company know you've been hit and you are going to claim through her insurance.

well i didnt know this but.. to make a claim you ring ur company up, they take your details from you and her details off you and they do it through the insurance ppl..i tried callin her insurance company to make a claim and that is what they told me to do.. get in touch with my company and give them her details... i just want everyone to be clear (insurers) that its her that crashed into me not the other way round..

The trouble with roundabouts is that, when approaching them, people are just as likely to be looking at the traffic ON the roundabout as they are the traffic in front of them waiting to get on it.

How often have you been looking at the traffic on the roundabout so as to get on as expediently as possible, only to look forward and see a car waiting to get on and had to hastily apply your brakes?

Ive had exactly the same type of accident . I needed a new bumper top and bottom sections and a fog light and a number plate. The parts alone are about £380 so you would be wise to get it done on insurance. Check your own insurance will not doc your ncb if they process the claim for you . You will still have to pay the excess of course and then claim it back.

Nope, call her insurance direct and get ball going, don't faf about with yours, simply notify yours.

Call them back up and advise them that if they don't take action and process the claim you'd instruct a solicitor to do it on your behalf (her insurance will have to pick up the bill).

Go to a no win no fee solicitor if needs be.

Jon.

A woman decided to crash into the back of me last monday when i was static sitting at a red light, i tried to help her out by getting estimates but they were all £600 plus.
So i notified my insurance, they called me back to say the other party have accepted liability and that i wont have to pay any excess.

All it has is a scratch on the rear bumper and a 10p size ding on the rear quarter panel, her clio had a smashed headlamp and her wing was caved in. The bravo seems solid whem it comes to accidents:D
Im just waiting for the assessor to come down to view my vehicle hopefully on monday then i can have my car back by wednesday before the xmas break.

This has happened to me before when i had my ford focus and stupid women decided to pull out of a side street when i was doing 30mph and i demolished her car (corsa) and my focus still drove me home.
I wont be surprised when i get about £80 added on my renewal next year even though it wasnt my fault... damn insurance companys!:bang:

Anyways good luck craig

Tell me about it.

You need to charge them (3rd partys insurance company) that time 5 (as you'll be affected by it for 5 years). Not an exact science, but close enough. Get a renewal quote for yourself now and see if its gone up at all and charge the difference.

Done it with dad's insurance when some woman hit him head on.

i know its on record for 5 years has i have to declare the first accident from may 2008, now this one.

Why do women pay less insurance? they cause the accidents because they always have their minds on other things or doing their make up or moaning about their boyfriends or scratching their p...y(y)

I think its cos they have cheap prangs, compair to men who tend to compleatly write off their cars. lol.

That's true actually, i've never heard of a girl thats written her car off, but heard of countless guys who have.

You should still inform your insurance company that you have been involved in a RTA but make it clear you are not going to claim through them, as you will be claiming through the other partys insurance.

This is in case 3 months down the line the other party denies it beign her fault and decides to claim against you, your insurance company will not be happy as you've failed to let them know.

Pretty sure it's in the T&C that you at least let them know - but you are correct in saying you call the other persons insurance and claim off of them.

If you can't be bothered to deal with insurance companies you can call someone like HelpHire who do all the legwork for you and bill the other persons insurance company for their work.

i dont want to be paying insurance excess no chance...she crashed into me.. dont see why i would have too.

i just need to let mine know today whats going on and find out what happens from now.. i wont be pleased if the repray doesnt look the same and it looks like the bumper has been replaced cuz if that was the case i would rather just get a number plate and the eye cover and just be done with it since you cant really tell someones crashed into me part from the number plate and the tiny crack on the inside where the black part meets the painted part...

just seems like alot of hassle.

My niece wrote off 3 cars in about 2 years, one was even upside down, shes 4months younger than me.

Her bloody insurance was still lower than mine!! (male)

I dont think the respray matching will be much of an issue, ive found on "new" cars (09) the paint hasn't faded overtime so matching isn't too much trouble, my dads 09 metro blue astra recently had bumper resprayed & it matches np.
