Technical Some probs i need help with!!

Right 1st off is i got 1 hell of an oil leak, the bloke i bought it off said the engine has had a rebuild & i have receipts to prove this, plus its had a turbo recon (T28, is that the standard Turbo for the 20vt??) there seems to be alot of oil around the rocker cover, on top of the gearbox & at the back of the engine, & thats where it leaves a patch of oil under the car!!! Would the rocker cover if at fault loose a lot of oil???

2nd problem is when cold & driving along normally (i dont go past 3,000rpm untill its warm!!) it wont let me hold it on the revs without it starting to cough & splutter then it backfires :bang: Strange thing is when iv'e been driving for say 30mins then pull over & turn off the car, restart the car & drive off it does the same damn thing Iv'e only had the car a week & already its doing my head in :bang: I replaced the plugs on monday but its still doing it!!!
Any help on either of my problems would be a god send :worship:
