I'm an ex Bravo owner who needs some quick advice.

I checked the oil level on my current car (Mondeo 2.5 V6) and found it to be a bit low on oil and in need of a top up.

The thing is, of all the various cars i've owned over the past 10 years i've never ever had to buy any oil myself!

I guess i've never had any cars that use much oil, plus I never go more than a year without a service which of course includes an oil change. I do check oil levels regularly.

What sort of oil should I buy??? (I presume they are different types???)

Sorry to be such a thick t**t!

Thanks

any semi synthetic or fully synthetic should be okay for your car,

remember petrol and diesel have diff oil so check :)

Most modern Fords take 5w30 but please get your manual out and check in the back first, its the only way to be sure.

indeed, each engine is different. I suspect the mondeo will want somewhere between a fully synthetic 10W40 or 5W30.
Its not unusual to top cars engine oils up. Diesels in particular use a lot. I probably use a litre in between 10k services...
