.....went the alternator belt as i was driving home from work. luckily i wasn't far from home and got home ok anyway. but the belt was missing 30+ teeth which is a tad worrying. as it was dark i thought best to leave it til morning til i have a look so i'll have to have a lookey tomorrow morning and check everything is ok. any places to pay particular interest to? the belt itself is just over a year old.

replaced the belt. but checked the wheels of everything and the alternator spun round fine and the water pump was a bit more effort but nothing to worry about. so i started out what should in theory be an easy job. just loosen one bolt and then pull alternator towards me. slip belt on. push alternator away. tighten bolt. ha ha. but anyway managed it in the end.

Stripped teeth on a belt is usually down to a worn pulley or out of line pulley.
