Hi, anyone replaced the mechanism (vessels) for their skydome?
Mines broken, it got stuck open and only just managed to get it closed before the rain came.
Anyhow fairly certain the parts are expensive enough so was looking to source the parts from a breaker. Anyone replaced the mechanisms on theirs and how easy was it?

There was a thread on this exact subject about six months ago which had a successfull outcome. Hopefully the search function will drag it up.

O.k might seem like a daft question. Is the skydome sunroof the same on the 3 & 5 door versions of the Punto?

Also Ive got 2 breakers that will either sell me both vessels for £80 who reckon they work fine or another who wants to sell me the whole roof for £150 who guarantees it works fine - which do you reckon I should go for?

Ok, sourced some replacement sunroof mechanisms from a breakers up North.
£80 - damn site better than £350 per mech + fitting from Fiat!
So it took me all day and i dont have much skin left on my knuckles but it was worth it, the sunroof works like a dream now.
I did intend to takes lots of pics and do a guide, but to be honest once things got complicated and i had the inside of my car in pieces, all thoughts of that went out the window!:D
The ribbons that drive it are ridiculous, mine were mangled and one was snapped right off.

Nice work mate! My ribbons had just snapped straight off and weren't nearly as mangled, though I'm sure given time they'd have ended up the same way... or worse just let the roof sail into the car behind! If I were Fiat I'd be giving Webasto a good kicking over the shoddy quality prone-to-breakages roof... although maybe that was the plan all along
