First post and a quick question please

I'm currently running a modified Octavia vRS, but as I do up to 20k miles a year, the costs are really starting to bite so it's time for a change.

As it's only me and a packet of sandwiches in the car for most of the time, I've been looking for something that's fun but easier on the pocket and the 100HP really appeals :)

So now for the question.............

Can I stick a tow bar on it?

If the answer is no then that's the end of the Panda for me :(

Trouble is, with such a small boot compared to the Octy I'm going to need to tow a small trailer to accommodate weekend camping equipment.

Cheers.

Can you not fold the seats down

Post in the panda section and they will help you out. (y)

welcome to the forum section.

have a look and post in the leisure lounge if you want a laugh :D

I wouldve thought you would be able to do this, other panda models have this so cant see what problems there are with the 100hp having one

Make sure you go to a pro etc for this though.

How come you rejected the panda sporting multijet? Perhaps an alternative to the 100hp especially doing 20k a yr?

We fold the seats in the Octavia to fit everything in as it is

And if you've ever seen the size of an Octavia's boot, you'd realise that the Panda is just not going to be up to the job, in fact with the seats down you could probably fit the Panda in there :)

Sporting multijet? not even found that yet :)

Saw the 100HP in a copy of EVO at the Dentist's a few weeks ago and it got me thinking.....

So whats the Sporting Multijet - it's too late in the day an I'm too lazy to look

If you're too lazy too look for a simple review, I'd suggest you're not committed enough to be a FIAT owner. Stick to the VW stable, automotive white goods ... :D

Well not really too lazy too look, I was just giving the previous poster a chance to enlighten me as the FIAT uk site appears to be down at the moment :bang:

But thank you for taking the trouble to reply anyway. :)

Helpful, wasn't I? :D

A big warm FIAT to the Forum anyway. That's quite a change you're considering, an big torquey Octavia to a small revy Panda; I'd recommend a test drive ASAP whatever the the answer to the tow bar issue is (a roof box is another possibility).

Am I the only one that thinks VRS - 100hp is just too big a step!

You should really be looking at Furby VRS or LEON tdi/fr or Kia Ceed?

Then you've got the borring - Astra/Golf/Focar$e/Civic/Corolla

You could always get the stilo MW like Noclu and put the skoda in the back of that  now that's what I call carrying capacity ..its HUUUGGGGGEEEEEEE:D

I have to say, I do love my car! Is damm ugly though. Kind of like a pet with a limp and a wonky ear ugly but loveable :)

Also, Estate cars are so usfull, I will not be going back to hatch/salon etc... for a long time!

So you want big boot and cheap running costs?

New Bravo Sporting Multijet?

plus there is the Octy vRS TDI :)

Thanks for all the replies guy's, but it's all about money at this end at the moment and the vRS is just too expensive to run on the mileage I'm doing (n)

It's now coming to the end of the manufacturers warranty, and next year its going to require a minor service, major service and a cam belt change. Add that lot up and it's the thick end of 800 beer vouchers.

Throw in 3 pairs of 225/45/17 tyres and a couple of tracking checks and we're nearer £1500. Then add nearly a grand for insurance and £260 a month for v-power and it really starts to sting.

So there we have it, I was thinking that the 100hp would give me some of the thrills without most of the bills :D

The only problem I've got (apart from the need for a tow bar) is finding one I can test drive locally, been trying the dealers but no joy so far.

Did fancy a 1.9 GP when they first came out and may start looking in that direction again but that will still leave me with expensive rubber bills wont it? (n)
