General Sisley specs and chassis numbers

Let's see if we can pull together some data and get closer to an answer on the Spec changes as Sisley production progressed:

My VIN is ZFA141A0004066514
First reg 22/3/'88
Met grey paint (pre Snatch), beige seats with frilly edges and mottled headlining, beige square embossed vinyl to dash and door cards.
No logos on horn push, clocks, wheel centre caps or seat belts.

What's your Sisley like?

I can't see how this is going to be of help to anyone except someone wanting to cloan a car VIN number

The first 500 sisleys have a yellowy beige faux leather hammock, door cards and sides of seats. Dash std plain as is the horn push. It was supposed to be 500 ltd edition, but they sold so well that fiat continued to make them ( damian hurst does this too boost his tiny bank balance) with all the Sisley badging and changes the faux stuff to grey.

You can find members with both types as well as pics. Don't forget cars could be stuck in dealers and registered whenever. As for kolzas one it is likely that the original bits were sold on as they are worth cash compared to std stuff. Look at how much thewheel centre caps are worth. Our cars have usually gone through a few changes in 25 years.

as far as i know, theres only 2 types of sisley, the early one and the later one. mine is the later. the early ones are more desirable.. but then again in this time of year any small economical 4x4 is desirable.

Yes only the 2. I prefer the later ones personally, so earlier is less desirable to me.

The early ones are almost certainly rarer though - having said that, there's only 56 Sisley's showing as taxed currently, which is less than I expected!

the extremely rare van type with no rear seat (or roof bars, bull bars, sisley markings etc) don't y'know :devil:
