Hi All,

My Sisley project has been making (very) slow progress over the last few years. It's now in full working order, rust free (have replaced doors and tailgate and had some minor welding done) and has a fresh MOT. The next step is to get it looking nice.

I want it re-painting inside and out, inc. the wheels and thought a max budget of £3,000 would be more than do-able... but I'm struggling.

Normal repair type body shops just want to quickly do the outside and won't take on anything more complicated. Restoration-type places want to do a bare metal restoration and are quoting more like £10k - fine if it's a £50k classic but not realistic for my little panda!

Can anyone recommend a competent bodyshop in the Midlands (I'm in Rugby) to get my panda looking good again?

Thanks,

Ally

Yep I'll second that, he has found a very good bloke to do the painting whilst Freddy can sort everything else.

Very pleased with the quality of work on the Colour, check it out for yourself at the NEC in November!

Hi,

I'd love to check out a freshly fixed up panda to see what can be done, and to see what his handiwork's like - what show is it that you're attending?

Hi Ally,

Just to give you an idea what is doable for that cost. I have just had welding to both sills, new replacement front wing (supplied by me), new scuttle panel (supplied by me), rust free doors (supplied by me), boot lid lip repair, rear arch repair, windscreen fitted (supplied by me), full respray, MOT and new plates for under 3k.

Good luck
Michael

Thanks Michael, that's really useful to know and good to know I'm not completely crazy! As I've already worked my way through pretty much your list (in fact exactly your list!!) bar the paint part it should mean Freddy can do me a good job on what's left within budget. I've just got to wait a few months now til he's got time to do it... I bet they'll feel like a few long months!

I've found a fellow car geek to go with, so I don't have to drag the wife round.
