Hi guys
Just got a cheap MkII Punto 1.2 (2000) and have a quick question. I'm assuming it's the 8v one but how do you tell the difference between that and the 16v? There's no 16v badge on the back and I didn't see anything under the bonnet (like the conspicuous "Turbo" on the engine of my old Escort TD). It's not a big deal as it's just a cheap runaround but I'm curious. It doesn't feel especially fast but is probably a bit quicker than the two Kas with a similar engine size we had previously (one of which was a Zetec, the other an older Duratec).
I think it's got about 57k on the clock, I noticed that there's a few posts that mention gasket heads and cam belts going on these so is there anything I should have a look for at this point? My father-in-law found it for us and he's a mechanic, so I think he's checked for obvious stuff but I was wondering about anything Punto specific.
Also, it only came with one key, roughly what would I expect a dealer to charge for a spare?
Cheers.
