Technical Shuddering

Hi fellow Croma owners.
I've had my 2.4JTD for a few months now & think its great, except now and again whilst driving, typically cruising
around 2000rpm, it starts to shudder badly as if its mis firing badly and if I accellerate it stops but only to start again
when the revs drop. Eventually it stops doing this and drives on normally. This behaviour doesn't occur every day and
commute 40 miles each way only every few days? My croma has 49k and is as far as I know unmodified.
Any idea's?

Sounds like our old friend the EGR valve. Loads of info on this forum.

Well that's what it was on my 2.4 at about the same mileage. The 2.4 seems veerrrrrry twitchy on the EGR front, still not convinced mine's quite right but it's a lot better than it was. EGR problems on this engine seem to give various symptoms depending on load conditions, engine temperature and air temperature.
