hi can anyonw please help me urgunt my shock on my rear left went and i went to halfords but they gave me the shoter one than i have got will it matter if it is shoter than the original one i have pushed it in and out but the original 1 is still longer thanks

Wrong shock either already fitted or supplied to you by Halfords, dont fit it, find out which it should be, certainly dont just replace a shock on one side, ALWAYS replce both on the same end of the car.
What model is it for? Perhaps other owners can help you with details of what should be fitted. Also I echo what Ffoxy says - replacing one only could adversely affect handling and cornering and if one's gone, the other's on the way out soon so will need changed anyway
