Ello guys, as you know i did buy a 1997 cinquecento sx, in grey, there are scuffs on the car everywhere, (what can you expect from a 11 year old car)

also my paint feels very grainy, is there anything i can do to restore it to make it look and feel lovely again?

thankss

The car will require claying followed by machine polishing which will bring out the best in the old paintwork and it'll leave it feeling like new. Depending on the severity of the scuffs they'll need colour sanding and then polishing.

Thanks mate, my first reply, i will do all the work my self, as ive got autoglym polish here, well about 50 odd bottles of the stuff lol!

where can i get clay from? isit expensive?
ta

The claybar isn't too expensive, Meguiars do a basic kit for around £11 which is available from any good high street store.

Unfortunately the Autoglym polish wont cut it, you'll need something with more bite, I'd recommend 3M Fast cut if you're going to polish by hand, but as said, I think you'll definately have to go with machine polishing to really bring the paintwork up.

Good luck with it!

is it a solid colour or metallic ? in the past i had reasonable results with the devils own T-Cut (if its metalic don't use the t-cut in the red bottle you want the specific metallic T-cut or you'll destroy the clear coat then polish with Super resin polish with a German applicator

then add a protection wax/ synthetic sealant of your choice 2 that live in my collection are collinite 915 and Bilt hamber Auto balm
