well the weekend is now over and i have rebuilt Patch, the new box and clutch are sweet, and the top end rebuild has made her a hell of alot smoother, dead hg (partially, was a small leak from the front corner of No 1 cyl to the front of the block, not into the oil ways really, just a smidge...) made her run a bit rough. gave her a full service aswell and i must say im rather happy

got her towed to work this morning as she has no MOT or tax atm, so im driving her around the docks (private land so i can drive around) i must say im well happy :D (y) very very nice to drive her again after 2 months, but thats what it took to find a good box (as in the best i possibly could without spoending silly money) and getting the time at weekends to do the necessary work. her MOT's booked for Wednesday so by then i will make sure she sparkles and all fluids and everything is exactly as it should be and then just pray to the gods that all is ok

cheers guys (y)

and nope.... no warranty, got it private, then stripped it and rebuilt it with new seals and bearings. the diff was supprisingly tight, donor car had done 57k miles and the box was very nice but still got carried away making sure all is sweet

must admit driving her around the port today has been really really really nice!!! forgot just how damn comfy she is, esp compared to my dog of an escort!! i just keep 'having to pop out and do something else :):p

cheers guys (y)

just got the mot on wed now and ill know the score properly

the shake down miles ive been doing in her (at work, the docks are private property) have been pretty damn impressive i must admit. runs and drives an absolute treat, especially when i compare it to my escort, but shes alot better than before aswell so im well chuffed
