Ive just filled my car with this stuff and cant believe the difference. wasnt really expecting anything but straight away pulling out of the petrol station you can notice the difference. much better throttle response. think ill be using this from now on..

Same here

Were you using Super Unleaded before? I've been using Optimax since it came out a few weeks ago, boy what a difference it's made. Seems as though the revs go on a lot further and response is sharper. May cost more, but who gives a ****? (Apart from my moany arse girlfriend!!)

optimax

nah i was using normal unleaded before. Yea it costs a little more but tell your girlfiend it lasts longer than normal petrol. Should keep her happy even if it is bol**x. i have heard its sposed to last longer tho because its denser - its not gonna the way im driving at the moment tho :)

optimax

I also noticed a big differance when i tried optimax for the first time. I dont have an HGT or anything sporty, just a 1.2 16v but the throttle response is excellent. I paid 78.9p per litre for it whitch is 3p more than unleaded where i live, I didn't think that was bad really. and even though i'm teaching people to drive in my bravo most of the time (gentle acceleration, 30 mph) i'm still gonna keep using it.

Cheap...

I'm paying 81.9p/litre here in Cumbria, where abouts are you folks?

Super Unleaded

I'm using Super, i think they both have the same octain levels. Has anyone tried optimax over Super?

Re: Super Unleaded

Hi,
I've been reading all this stuff about Shell Optimax and thought I'd try it out. None of my local Shell stations sells it but they sell 'Super Unleaded' - put in 56 litres (85.9 p/litre).
Result? - noticed absolutely nothing - no difference at all from my normal unleaded at 76.9 p/litre.
I think you lot have been sniffing too much petrol fumes!

OPTIMAX

Optimax petrol seems to offer a smoother kind of performance than Super. Performance wise they are very similar but when under hard acceleration the optimax seems to be smooter nearer the red line.

I am currently doing over 300 miles each weekend along twisty country roads with almost 0 overtaking points. The optimax definately is the petrol to use for this kind of driving.

If you havnt noticed any improvment then I guess that you are probably trying it arround town. Try it on the open roads in second and third gear.

Only problem is that I am going to have to sell a kidney to pay for the increased fuel costs!
