hi i have a bravo with over 30 on the clock
its 5 years old and was recently acquired

now the last owner did nto have the car for a long time so he serviced it himself therefore the last few service dates werent noted down

however anythign before was noted down..

now i ask this

how important is it to note down serviceing dates for the car?
i can get it done professionally by a vat company who will provide the stamps for the book

but then i can get it doen far chepaer by a trained professioonal who isnt VAT regd as he doenst earn enough>>

thh 2nd option interests me for obviosu reasons but need to knwo if this is ok??

as i still will do the MOT as normal of course..

Depends on what your doing with the car! Aftermarket Warranty etc will need VAT registered garage, however other than that no need. When coming to sell it you wont get as much for it, but as you said its already got gaps in the service history anhow and the amount you'll save in servicing costs, £100-200 a yr to servce at garage now!

If it was a high value car or newer car then yes, VAT reg garage best way to go if you plan on selling. But as i gather a bravo/a then not really worth it, but do keep a note of what's changed and when etc, also a garage service every now and then as its easy to miss things unless you have a full lift ramp at your disposal!
