Hello,

My last visits a year ago for my A500 first service did not leave me feeling to warm and fuzzy, reading different threads about just how poor AC (Glasgow and Edinburgh) can be is not doing them any favors either. None the less it keeps the Service book looking good with a stamp, and hopefully using the correct parts.

Has anyone had they car serviced in Glasgow or Edinburgh AV recently who can leave some feedback?

Also If anyone has used a garage in the west Lothian area for there Abarth for servicing then I am open to that..

Cheers

I went with my Sporting for warranty work after purchase, the mechanics in there are complete imbeciles. Hand-brake cable was broke, they ran a new cable in and tensioned it so the handbrake lever was tight but didnt bother to actually check it was working properly, turned out only one wheel was being locked with the handbrake after I got my brother in law to check it out, he's a good mechanic.... he adjusted it so back calipers now lock.

Then just a few days ago, my chrome tip came off my exhaust, they said a new backbox was required, woo thats great, brand new part under warranty, they fit it on wed, driving home from college on thur and my car starts sounding like a boy racers car, I get home and check under my car, I find the backbox wasn't actually securely attached onto the existing exhaust, more just slotted in and had fallen off... Had to go back in on friday and wait 4 hours on them repairing it properly, had to order the correct part in, the people behind the desk, brilliant, the parts guys, brilliant, the idiots that carry out the work in the workshop couldn't tell the difference between a spanner and a ratchet.

To be fair, AC Fiat Kirkcaldy aint that bad, but seriously don't know a f*cked ECU when they see one though haha.

sorry arnold clark and competance really doesnt spring to mind im afraid
would never let any off them touch any car mechanicly

Wouldnt go near arnold clark at any point in my life. My old man had a dealing with them about 7 years ago with the warranty on his bravo. All they done was quick fix it 3 times until the warranty run out and tried to hit him with a massive bill to fix it after the warranty run out. Almost as bad as Halfrauds

Well thats pretty much the feedback I have came to expect, I spoke to a mate who knows a good mechanic near me. Spoke to the mechanic and he has assured he can service the car and provide parts if required that are manufacturer approved for purposes of warranty. Thanks folks for putting my mind at rest.

i payed a deposit on a car through arnold clark (150) beck on the 3rd of jan and still fighting to get it back as everything i was told was utter crap. total lies and cars were put togeather with bluetak.

i was told it would be in my bank by the 15th..... of jan. getting to the point were there refusing to call back and managers are never available.... think its time for a trip to arnold clark.

I really should be having a fight with Arnold Clark at the moment but can't get the enthusiasm together to do so. It does gall me to give in and I know I should take them to the small claims court especially as I have trading standards supporting me but frankly

meh
