How do I get rid of my service light on my dash ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1376828175.311367.jpg

If its anything like the puntos you will need to take it to fiat dealer, they will remove the light using one of their computers. Otherwise if you know someone who has a copy of fiat ecu multiscan they should be able to take it off too

The guys who service my car can't remove the service indicator yet I would never say they are incompitant :/

The question is not whether they are competent, it's whether they're prepared to pay the price for the equipment necessary to reset the service indicator.

IMO servicing the car includes resetting the service indicator. Any independent garage lacking the equipment necessary to do this should inform the customer when quoting for the service that the price does not include the reset, otherwise you would be perfectly entitled to pay a Fiat dealership for the reset and reclaim the cost back from the indie who did the service.

It might possibly go out by itself after 1000 miles or so.

If it was serviced at a Fiat Dealer then you'd just need to phone them to arrange to take it back in so they can reset the indicator, which won't take many minutes.

However, if it was serviced at an independent garage they might not have the kit to reset it (as mentioned above), so in that case if they can't do it you'll have to pay a Fiat Dealer or an Italian specialist to reset it.

Mine is doing this, i simply don't care as i serviced it 5.5k miles ago so know that the message doesn't mean anything :)
